So I assume there is no voting or anything on trades. Whatever trade is agreed on goes? Never been in a league like that before... Interesting
The Red Sox are going to gain a significant amount of RBIs, about 15 points on average in Batting Average, around 20 runs while losing about 5-10 HRs and 5-10 Stolen Bases based on past history and professional predictions.
Trading a legitimate 1st round Top 2 SS for a young SS/3B who is clearly not nearly as good and a 6th Round OF Pick in Jason Kubel who is arguably the same player as Nelson Cruz (they were drafted 10 spots apart if u need further eveidence) just doesn't seem right to me, especially when the team getting the better talent in my opinion is the Red Sox who had a decided advantage on everyone before the draft even started.
Not sure how this league is gonna go about this but I feel that it should be up to the other 10 league members to vote on the trade. If more than 2 people veto or something like that then I say it shouldn't be allowed.

couple things. 1. we don't have an "angels". red sox maybe. 2. this is ridiculous. its what i like to call an "insta-veto". where the instant i look at it, i would veto because it is THAT bad. there is no way this can go through. absolutely no way.

So apparently you guys don't think much of my intelligence? Obviously Tulo is a better fantasy player right now than Beckham. We wouldn't be making a 4 player trade if they matched up perfectly. I'm trading for two guys that I believe will exceed their previous years' numbers (one guy's first full year in the league, and the other didn't even have a full season), and I'm trading away a guy with a high ceiling, but who has had major health problems. Saying this trade is as lopsided as they get just isn't true.

All I can tell ya is that so far the only 3 guys out of the 10 that werent involved who have reviewed the trade think its a bogus trade and want it vetoed so I think its safe to say its a no go.

It appears lopsided to me as well but if gzimms wants it and thinks hes getting a good deal I dont see anything wrong with it. A lot of you are really high on Beckham for some reason, I honestly don't think he will do all that great and thats why I did not have him as a keeper. So I think we need to know if trades go through with no vote or we do have a vote. Either way I think this trade should go through. Have a great day!!

Ok so we have 3 votes totally against it including one person who wants to quit the league if it goes through and then 1 guy who approves of it even though he believes it is lopsided ( ?). If others want to voice their opinion please do it here but as of right now I'd have to say w/ a 3 to 1 advantage and all 4 guys thinking its lopsided that we gotta cancel this particular trade.

i agree beckham is a good player. and he will definitely improve his numbers from last year. but his fantasy value is no where near that of tulo. i understand a trade won't be completely even because then the trade would be useless. but this one is quite a bit lopsided. plus saying tulo is a major injury risk is a bit of a stretch as well.

*idea* there are 12 of us. lets say a 2/3 majority FOR a trade gets it passed. and anything less will not be passed aka veto. kinda like how our govt does it. so a trade needs 8 votes to pass. and a trade needs 4 votes for veto. what do you guys think of this policy?

So basically u r saying 4 out of 10 fails it or 40 percent since the 2 involved will obviously say yes... I'm down with that.

Sounds good to me as well.
Don, when you look at a trade, remember that in any trades involving multiple players from each side, you can't just say, for example, that Tulo is better than Beckham unless you aknowledge the difference in the other players. I guess Todd said he thinks Cruz and Kubel are about equal. I think Cruz will be more productive than Kubel, so that balances it out enough for me. If that doesn't cut it for the league then I guess the trade won't go through. This trade isn't nearly as lopsided as you say it is though, and maybe I'll have to remind folks of this discussion after 162 games have been played this year. Of course I could certainly be wrong in the end too, because all we can do is make decisions on what we think is most likely knowing that no predictions are full proof.
