Okay, here are the rules for the Minor League Draft:
1.) To start, you get to have 3 keepers from your teams minor league system.
2.) We will have a 3 round draft. This means we will have a total of 6 minor leaguers.
3.) Any player that is a keeper, or is drafted, is protected by that team. There are a few rules that go with this.
a.) Any minor leaguer that starts the season out of spring training on an MLB team as an everyday player (or in the teams starting rotation) must be on your MLB roster. This means you need to be careful when drafting/picking minor league players because you either have to put them on your roster and get rid of another player, or not put them on your team and risk loseing them to another team.
b.) During the season, if a minor league player is called up to their MLB team, they are only protected if they are replacing a player who is on the 15 day DL. If they are replacing a player on the DL for 60+ days they must be put on your roster.
c.) This goes along with part b. If a player is called up to your team to replace someone who is on the 60 day DL (or longer, or starts the season on the MLB team) you have a 2 WEEK period to wait and see how they perform. During this 2 week period, only the team that has that minor league player can add them to their roster. Once the 2 weeks are up, ANY team can pick that player up.
d.) When a player is called up because the rosters expanded in September, they DO NOT have to be put on your roster. They will still be protected from then until the end of the season.
Please post your 3 minor league keepers from your team, and I will add them to your roster in a seperate minor league part. If you want to add them to your roster yourself, you can, just please post who you are picking here so that people will know who is not available anymore.
